Buchanan Partnership is an RIBA chartered architecture practice. Based in Cheltenham, we work across the South West, Gloucestershire and the Cotswolds, as well as in London.
We seek to promote good practice in ecological building design. Our architectural work focuses on designing new build energy-efficient buildings, and sensitive restorations and alterations of historic buildings.
We enjoy experimenting with materials and ideas, and bring an intelligent and considered approach to the challenges of each brief. We believe that imaginative design should provide economic and energy-efficient solutions to contribute to sustainable development on a wider scale.
We are committed to providing an efficient and cost-effective service to meet the needs of our clients.
We understand the value of successful planning applications, and the importance of achieving planning approval for schemes that respond imaginatively, but pragmatically, to site, budget and brief.
We are able to assist with every aspect of the planning process and can provide a partial or complete service.
We have a successful record of approved planning permissions in a wide range of local authorities, including Cheltenham, Stroud, Cotswold, Gloucester, Tewkesbury and London boroughs. We prepare and submit planning applications, design and access statements, and appeal statements, and give expert advice at public inquiries, for projects varying from large retail developments to small house extensions. Our expertise also include research for government agencies.
As part of our commitment to offer our clients a full architectural service we prepare information required for Building Regulations Approval, and liaise with the local authority or approved inspector, to ensure proposals comply with statutory requirements.
We can also offer these services on a standalone basis or as part of a partial service.
Where a full architectural service has been commissioned we will oversee projects on site, administer the construction contract, and ensure quality and cost-control of the building project.
